Alright, my reason is that you pretty much can't delete accounts, as it will mess up the thing in the url link like when you go in your profile you have a number. And there really is no point in doing this. Just pick a different name.

On another forum i go to, if a user has never posted then we sometimes add an underscore or something onto the end of their name.

this could be done here.

we change the old account, freeing up the sexappeal one for the active user.
