No, if you read my suggestion and looked at the pictures, you'd see that I suggested that everyone begins at "~", which it, or a similar character, could be used to represent "no rank" until you choose to assign one

New Friends havent got a number yet, it would just be "~" in this case, before you edit it yourself.

I guess its not a big deal, but easier to set the ranks, I will vote yes.
