We're not asking for this split for just the purpose of share scripture. Marcus has lots of ideas on ways to bring the Christian community of jsp together. Wonderful ideas like a weekly Bible Study and worship and praise time. It would also give us a place to share things going on in our lives with one another without all the spamming and negativity.

I respectfully disagree. If PARD is losing traffic, it's partly because people have been upset about flaming. Breaking it up may decrease forum activity but it may increase quality. In either case there's a pretty big desire for a separated forum. The religious community on d2jsp has been victimized by people who wish to take advantage of the forum space and even insult people who just want a nice place for discussion. The word of the day gets some discussion, but it's mainly a measure to help create some space within the current PARD forum for religious discussion; otherwise it gets marginalized. Marcus works very hard. He is dedicated on a daily basis to helping forge a valuable safe spot for discussion. Even with his diligence, he's been the subject of ridicule and intolerance. Your point that people don't discuss scripture or related matters in his topics points out a reason why his suggestion is very strong. There are plenty of people who want this suggestion to work out. Just read the entirety of this topic. Imagine how many other people don't know about this suggestion.

I hope you might reconsider the benefits of this suggestion :)

PaRD lost a lot of traffic with the Zeitgeist guild and the 2008 election bullshit. Since then it has never truly recovered and it has only been recently (53 days ago, to be exact) that a "demand" for a separate forum has arisen.

Also, I am curious why the people in this pretend to give a shit considering I've seen a grand total of 3 or so of you in PaRD and I've been there for years. If you don't care say so, don't lie and pretend like you've been waiting for a religious forum.

Hmm, why don't they post in there? Maybe because of the crap people who do post in there have to put up with. I've been in that forum for a week now and I'm about done myself. The inappropriate spam that is disgusting and offensive, the hateful members and the intolerance is beyond ridiculous. You think there's only 3 or so Christians on jsp? You're very wrong if you do, there are many many more. They don't come in there because they know they won't have a moments peace if they post anything that resembles loving God. Ohh sure you can go in there and post how much you hate God all day long and be applauded for it because it spews discontent and malice. That's not religion that's lack of it, in my opinion. That's not something that's going to change anytime soon, if ever.

I fail to see how separating the forums will eliminate the religious discussion you seemed to be opposed to.

What you want is a "Praise the Lord" section, not a religious discussion section.

What would Jesus Do in this situation!?

Would he banned all the sick and needy and allow only whose who say they are followers?

If you think "YES" Then consider the following:

Matt 5:11 "Blessed are you when men cast insults at you, and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely, on the account of ME."

Isaiah 55:11 "So shall My word be which goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me empty, Without accomplishing what I desire, And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it."

You have an opportunity to spread GOD's word so spread it.

I know that scripture very well!! But when people come in and talk about doing nasty things to other men, that goes beyond what should be acceptable. persecution is one thing, but this is beyond that. Fine don't seperate them... Give people who believe in God and subforum called Worship and Praise or whatever they want to call it.

The internet isn't exactly ideal for christian fellowship, in my opinion. Much of the reason why people keep coming back to the pard is to contribute to some meaningful and intellectual debate, and I don't see why "praising God and Jesus" would be considered either. If anything, flaunting that sort of devotion over the internet is a reward in and of itself, much like the hypocrites in the Bible who rend their clothes, smear ashes on their faces, and pray on street corners in plain sight, and this sort of behavior probably won't win you bonus points with Jesus.

Uh.

Ignore them?

If you're actually secure in your religious beliefs, you wouldn't give a shit either way if people come in to flame them.

Though many of them are atheist, it's mostly spam that's pissing them off, and they're willing to flame you and your beliefs for a reaction.

And if you're interested in a solid suggestion that would give plenty of room for praising Jesus and wouldn't antagonize the regulars as much, here's a link

That suggestion is not solid in my opinion. If we can't post our love of God then others can't post their hate. What's good for one is good for the other. It would be different if there was more discussion and debate than bashing and harassment, but there's not.

Ignore them? Ok, ignore us. Ignore the praise threads. It works both ways you see. I am very secure in my beliefs :)
