I suggested this about 2 years ago and it was shot down because the site load is based on the number of characters processed by the site, not by the number of things displayed.

since then they have reduced the file size limits of sigs and avatars, and put a cap on the number of characters in profiles.

So it's looking even worse for the cause.

Maybe in profile yes, but signatures can not be to long/big anyway, we have max amount of kb, and max amount of lines in your signature.

I think this would work, without site lagg.
