No, you can just as easily do this

*SPOILER ALERT* harry dies at the end of the next movie, comes back to life, kills voldemort and has kids with Ron's sister *END SPOILER*

Either way, idiots who will look at the spoiler will get pissed off

But with these it's easier to read the spoiler by accident (just by naturally having your eyes follow the bolded text). With spoiler tags it's impossible to read it, unless you click it.
