I agree with you for the most part brmv. It's frustrating the amount of early bumps in the trade forums that are allowed. It make us rule abiding members want to break the rules as well because for the most part there are no consequences.

Now I know some people get their threads closed, and some might even get a 10% warn for extreme use of the early bumps... but for the most part there are no consequences. If one gets their thread closed they simply just create another and continue to early bump time after time. Now, there are simply not enough mods to patrol the early bumps fully which is a problem for someone in a higher up position. This feature would help automate this process significantly and it would be a good idea.

In my time here, spending time in both the D2 and WoW trading forums.. the consequences for the early bump rules are non-existant it seems. But like I said this is due to a manpower issue.

If you have any disagreements or arguments with my thoughts, please let me know.

certainly no disagreement and i know very well that my suggestion would only capture part of the problem
the question is how to deal with a minor vioation as compared to the bigger ones
the problem is (as you rightfully indicated) that the lack of visible reaction to violations of the trade rules
drives others to follow the same road - the more early bumps/reposts/etc there are,
the more tempted others are to follow that example
would be nice to see some viable options being put up
(perhaps increasing the delay between posts for those who break the rules, but that might not be easy to implement)

Referring to rule #5 in the "Official Forum Rules and Policies":
"Intentionally posting multiple posts or topics that contain the same content or similar content is considered spam. Spam posts are deleted on sight, and the poster will receive an official warning and/or ban. Posting commercial spam for other sites or products is bannable on first offense."

After reading the rules and talking to some mods, i found out that they, and i quote: "dont give warn for fast bumping".
Those who replied me and gave a reason said that it was because they simply couldn't detect all.
Therefore people are more or less allowed to early bump as much as they want without risking getting warn.

With a bump controler this wouldn't even be an issue.

How many of you guys haven't tried to contact a member++ or higher?
They are all very short on time
If they didn't have to run around closing topics for fastbumping all the time they would be able to focus on more important things.

And ofc the main reason:
I hate to see people fastbump their own topics.

the main argument i have heard why people don't get warned for early bumping is that a warning would be out of balance and are reserved for worse violations - this is actually an argument which i accept, at least for the occasional bumper, but i (like many others) would like a better control over early bumps (and probably warnings for the worst perpetrators as well) - to cover a little ground was the reason i made this suggestion
what worries me most is that the bad examples influence the behaviour of others and while it is a nuisance everywhere, it really severly disadvantages traders who try to stick to the rules in the trade forums
actually i cannot complain, while some mods are at times unresponsive i do have to say that mostly i get a (reasonably) fast and friendly reply
and i am sure that you should have seen an improvement following the recent promotions
