I am going to make some statements here that freely expresses my own opinion and I will try my best to offend the least amount of people as possible. Regardless of having said that, reading this someone is going to take offense and probably be pissed. So continue reading at your own discretion.
For the people who voted no and claim there will not be enough activity; I wonder how you came about making your basis for this judgement. What is "active enough" and have you ever even tried to have a conversation with someone about fishing. When was the last time you saw a poll created to see exactly how many people are fisherman/woman? Just because a certain potential forum may not be familiar to you does not mean that people wont use it. For example: there are subforums for things that I wouldn't even know were games if they weren't listed under games. There are things and forums here that I never knew existed.
Activity on these forums in general range as widely as:
The entertainment room: 1 post is made on average every 4-5 hours
Programmer's heaven: 3-4 posts are made per day
East softcore nonladder: 12 posts made per second where 1 post every 2-3 minutes is some form of spam or violation
General help: refreshed by an active/overly hyper helper once every .2 seconds
Yeah it is obvious that my vote here is biased by my love of fishing. Anyone who has viewed my personal pics knows im an avid hunter and fisherman and I have never went out of my way to talk to people about it, yet every week someone new pms to me chat about where I caught the fish that I post in my profile.
Would the forum get used? Yes it would. Would it be as popular as some of the others? No probably not. Do I think it should be considered? You bet your bacon I do.
I like bacons so I voted yes.
