the friends feature is already there. this is just an improvement.
if you haven't been around much, you probably haven't noticed that a huge part of jsp is just communication and friends
once people quit a game they still come on here to talk and be with their guild etc
since you're 05 you obviously haven't really visited the site yet, apparently.
