What if we didnt get a "pop up" / "1 new message" when we got a pm at jsp?

And people just said "Go check your inbox every 5 min and check if you have got a new pm." That wouldnt work so well =)

The thing is we do get that popup upon receiving a PM. I can see that it is very useful if you are doing a lot of trading etc.
But for friends, just check pending requests once a day.
