When I'm trading I tend to be most cautious with users who have low fg and/or low posts, and these users are unlikely to have enough fg to invest in the deposit system, so trading with them will be just as risky.
Hence, from my perspective it's not terribly useful, but I'd wouldn't be opposed if someone took the time to implement it.

It comes with issues really.
First off many users here on d2jsp need every single fg they got.
Putting it into this system will make them withdraw everything,
Let me give a example of how your system will give a hastle.
User A
Has 500 fg and wants X item.
User B
Has 1000 fg and has X item for 500fg.
User A does not not want to trade because scared of scam
User B uses "Deposited" on XXX fg.
Trade Occurs
User B got 1000fg and 500Fg in Deposit.
But now what if User B wants to trade his 1500 fg for something else now?
He can not because it is "deposited" and now must wait on this time frame.
But by the time the frame is gone, the item he was looking at is gone. :[
If you want a safe trade "Request Mediator" is right there on the topic.
No one is forcing users to deposit, just like no one is required to use a mediator.
Each system has a cost that is entirely voluntary.
For the deposit system, you temporarily lose access to a portion of your fg, whereas the use of mediator requires that you give up some of your time while the trade is queuing.
