I have no problem with differing opinions. What was stupid was your technical assertions when you clearly have no idea what you're talking about. Sounds to me like you've heard the "huge strain on the servers" reply a bit too often and decided you could just use it without any knowledge of how things actually work.

(Implying you know how the servers of a site you don't have any sort of administrative rights to work)

Most people don't know.

Regardless, I highly doubt this is going to be added after being rejected a minimum of 3 times. Sorry.

Perhaps a screenshot of an example? Perhaps a few more example of websites?

Also, you've got to remember that this is a site based on trading, so obviously different rules apply here

There we are, thanks for supplying. Hyperbole FtW.

Check out any of the gaming websites and you will find that many of them already have this because it prevents so many things from happening. Also I don't understand how this could cause misunderstandings and stuff. This is pretty much the exact same thing as blocking someone from pming you except you are REALLY blocking them so you don't have to deal with them. I've skimmed through those threads and most of them are to block people from posting in them. I honestly don't care if they post, I just don't want to read what a person posts all the time because to block them it could do to several things such as them just raging all the time or them being a complete asshole.

Also this idea is mostly for the sections outside of trading (especially the halo series). If you look there you will see all the unnecessary rage from immature kids. The mods have pretty much left that section alone because of all the rage that goes on. You can pm a mod about it and nothing would be done so I suggested this to ignore all the immature kids and maybe help them learn from it.

Those threads that I saw wanted kids to be banned from posting in threads (mostly in the trading section). This is mostly for the other areas where mods barely go to.

Servers aren't exactly hugely different from one another. Sure, there are different configurations but there are some basic commonalities.

I'm not sure I understand. You mean you don't want certain people seeing anything you post?

Wait never mind you want to be able to not be able to see their posts.. Hm. I really don't know about this there seems to be a lot of ups and downs <_<

Other way around. Many of the other gaming websites I use have an option to prevent you from reading posts from someone such as a troll or dumbass who is trying to get attention all the time. I am saying that JSP should also get this option so you have a choice to never read a single post of that troll or dumbass. Most people I know will only use this when someone has crossed that line (yes I know everyone has that line so don't try and BS me about trying to ignore it).

It takes more effort to reply to a flame post than to simply scroll past it.
How the hell have you managed to survive on the internet this long if you can't ignore people?

Out of curiosity,, how would this work with quoting?
What if someone quotes the user you have blocked? Will the quote simply show nothing, leaving you frustrated by a reply without context?

(Implying it's not easy to lie on the internet in the hope that it supports your point)

I didn't imply "severs" had some sort of huge difference. I said having so many toggles for posts and users being blocked in threads would add to the site loading times and server loading times, which it would. I don't believe what you say on the internet, regardless of what you think, claiming you have some sort of "experience" of something on the internet does not mean you are insantly correct, it merely goes to show that you cannot hold your own argument up without resorting to false claims about experience because your argument is weak.

I do agree that people on this site tend to act very immature, and it would be nice for me, as a D2 Europe player, to not have to wade through "CHARSI OR JSP?" "OMG LOOK HEIR" "OMG P/C PLEEZ" threads every ten seconds, but all you can do, and all you NEED to do, is pay them no attention. Out of sight, out of mind is true, but a complete blocking feature is not necessary for this, simply report them (for what it's worth) and ignore them.

If this were to happen, it would kind of have to apply everywhere, I presume... but I'm sorry to tell you but it really WILL NOT be added, Paul has already said he has no plans to add this and so regardless of what is discussed herein, it's merely a fantasy where you could have a JSP without such childish behaviour as you and I both no doubt see from the same people day in, day out.
