a much better idea is to find trusted members who are very active in multiple subforums in the sports colliseum and create a new group that allows for closing of topics in the sports forums only.

very similar to the "graphic artist" group that was created to regulate the graphic design forums.

no member without a trusted tag will ever get this power.
