Betting is not

Getting scammed in betting isn't as bad as getting scammed in games.

You lose what could have been yours, but when you get scammed in a trade, somebody loses something that belongs to them.

edit. trading is supported by jsp but scams still happen. what's the difference between trading and betting again?

I see your point but betting not being supported doesn't mean its illegal really.

I can see both pros and cons in making it illegal though.

I am saying Compare it more like to CD-Keys trades which are also not supported. If you make a cd-key ft topic it gets closed because it is not supported however betting topics are allowed to remain open even though they are not supported too

well cd keys have nothing to do with the site. trading involves game items vs fg.

betting involves fg vs fg. surely the trading of fg is allowed?

that doesn't mean it's forbidden as some hypocrites tend to spread.

It's easy to find a way around those rules and then there'll even be more scams going on. Quite the opposite of what you (at least pretend to) want.

I'm very surprised to see this thread from you Chris. I understand that you may not be all for betting, having run into several occasions while running Dreams, however many people are trying to make betting a safer and better place.

Before you people vote, you need to take into account the amount of time and effort this site has put into keeping the Trading Forums / Donor Forums / Real Life forums safe. Do you know how many hours Paul and his Moderators have put and continue to put into this site? Without that time and effort, the Trading Forum and the rest of these forums would be in the exact same Chaotic State that the Betting Forum is in.

Since D2Jsp is not allowed to Support Betting, we do what we can to make it safe. We make lists, we update them, we maintain 'Mediators' and 'Trusteds' and continually put as much work into it as possible. Our rules may not be enforced by the Moderation team of D2Jsp, however we do as much as humanly (and d2jsp legal ofc) to keep it a safe place. Do you really think that we WANT these people coming in and scamming? They do nothing but ruin our Forums.

On another note, some of you may not realize this, but thanks to the betting forum, new rules and regulations for D2Jsp have been put in place in many occasions. I wont go into detail, to prevent people from finding the loopholes in the rules, however if you honestly wanted to know, just look around. Paul obviously isn't going to ever support it, for obvious reasons, but he's trying to adapt so everything flows well.


You people may feel we should get rid of it, I instead ask you to give us time to Fix and Regulate the Betting Forum so that everyone has a chance to safely bet and game, which ever other user on these forums has been given.
