You're right in the early bump case.
I think that warns could be handed out a bit more though.

Yea, I remember the emoticon you always posted when you closed threads LoL. I don't understand why the Early Bump fix hasn't been hard wired into the site, I don't think it would be that hard.... Any thoughts as to why that hasn't been created yet?


Warnings are not the answer, they only lead multi accounts because in their mind you've ruined their first account.

auto disabling early bumps has been suggested a ton of times
it's always rejected because then people can only reply to questions, bids, etc in the thread every 4 hours

If site suggestion by itself would help with enforcing rules I would say huge Yes.
Unfortunatelly rule breakers avoiding punishment mostly coz of big number of them - so I quess null would be my vote if pool was included.

OMG yes this is something that has been on my mind now for quite some time ( especially ) in the offering services point of view
there are so many new users who HONESTLY didnt know that they cant post services because everyone does it
and then SO many people complain about it
the early bumps and spam are so out of control now that its not uncommon for an ENTIRE refresh page to be nothing but ( spam, early bumps, and posting in wrong forum - IE price checks ) i say the rules should be enforced if u early bump or spam its tolerance u get +warn% first offence you already know u shouldnt do this AND if u are new you are supposed to have read the rules

and moderators have ALOT on their hands already to just aimlessly close threads and send PMs seriously

first offense instant warn% second in the next 4-24 hours 24 hour ban ( after 4-24 another warn ) IMO maybe people will then think twice about doing it

these are just my opinions but honestly the report button is defeats its purpose in a way
i do this all the time and still the spam and what not continues

That is very easy to code around:

If LastPost != Owner Then
BumpCount=14400;

Basically, if the last post wasn't made by the owner, the bump counter is set to 4 hours and obviously then the owner can reply. Obviously the langauge I wrote that in is bogus and doesn't exist, but the concept is pretty damn easy LoL.
