If you haven't figured it out, this is how life works.
Those wishing to move up most often find themselves, consciously or inadvertently, gravitating towards those already at the top - There's a reason the vast majority of the helpers are in guilds that have one or more mediator.
It's not necessarily fair, but it's certainly realistic.

Most SA helpers tell people to do that because lets face it, no one has the time or patience to read a sticky, especially if you just got scammed, they walk you through the process and they are very helpful.

And being a Trusted Trader is only part of getting the tag. There are plenty of "trusted" traders who everyone knows but they don't care about anyone else, they don't help in SA and General Help, they only trade. You need to help others, help the mod team by answering questions when they aren't around.

its not bullshit. ask anyone who has a tag. they have followed through all of it and thats how they got theres, just because you dont see results right away doesnt mean it doesnt work
