I'm pretty happy with how it is. I think I would have trouble reading some peoples chosen fonts.

(edit) You can always choose the ones you like for your sigs and avatars.

If you are referring to only changing your name, I am going to say No to this.
You could easily manipulate a certain font to make it appear that you were somebody else.

Example - Toomin & T00MlN
In some fonts those would look almost EXACTLY the same.
This would get abused, and is not necessary at all.
