I think it may hurt the site load alot

Imagine people that just pasted mad amounts of txt

we also have a guild chat system and that includes regular chat

Yeah site load, there you have a point, but none of us knows if the site can/cannot handle it..... that's for njaguar to decide / know!

JSP already endorses the use or IRC. Why would we need an instant messaging client on top of that?

let alone there is the pm system which is used to communicate. i dont think this will pass

I didn't mention the PM system because people will simply say "We want INSTANT messaging." But honestly, I've seen one forum do it and the system was not supported by the users at all, and the site is a lot bigger than JSP is....

clearly we want INSTANT messaging. JSPs server should be able to support it and if not it can always be upgraded to support it. If it works on facebook it can work here. There are enough people saying Yes to warrant at least for it to be looked into

Use IRC. Use AIM. Use MSN. Use Vent. There is no need for this.

the biggest problem i see besides site load is this new feature might be wrongly used to TRADE, and possibly SCAM without leaving enough proof... considering how many traders have been scammed via pm trade that is considered illegal.

this will make s/a forum much busier and make it harder to solve each case.
so i gave null vote.
