I believe that there is an active suggestion for this, but it's a great idea and I voted yes anyways

/e: after a minute of searching this is the oldest topic I could find, and it's basically this idea with the friends-only idea added to that.

This last blog I made was made for me to update my favorite videos, and I didn't want it to be spammed out with pathetic comments.

I'm going to say no, only because I agree with the fact that if this happens, people will start asking why they can't close the OTHER threads in other sections.

Also, you can always contact the group that handles the user blogs ( JM ) To get it closed.
