Reallife trades are forbidden anyway outside the DF.

That's why I just stated it in "Magic the Gathering Online" (1st Post) and ofc you can trade cards vs card here.
For the rest (FG Trades if this would be possible) use a Mediator or do it by your own risk.
It's the same as in any other Online-Game on this Forum.

I think it would be amazing if all MtG trades were supported via forum gold. I don't see how this could hurt njag since it just gives people another reason to buy forum gold. This could easily just be one of those "use a mediator or we won't do anything about it" things like uber leveling. I can't see anybody giving away something that is real for pixels if they don't 150% trust the system. It would also allow things like meeting with the person in real life and just picking up the cards while you transfer the fg with a public library computer/laptop. Not having access to the DF for some reason I can't say I know if cards get traded there already or not, but hopefully that'll change soon and I can make a more informed argument. XD

I'll also add that with the increased events this year (StarCity is holding a lot of 5K Events throughout the year), it wouldn't hurt to at least make a general section. This game is becoming more and more popular, has been resilient for almost two decades now, and by the end of July, when the second Legacy Grand Prix hits Columbus, the interest in this game will be at critical mass. If there was a better time to add an MTG section, I couldn't think of it. Adding my 2 yen.

I actually don't like the idea of trading cards on here, really. I would rather have this be a discussion board, because in the past we have not allowed "item-for-item" trades, and this is not going to be an exception. Basically, if I were on the staff now and we were discussing the creation of this forum, I would be against it. I have done a LOT of card-card trades, and have bought/sold my fair share. Things can just... go wrong. And I don't think it would be in the site's best interest to have it tied to things like mail fraud and getting authorities involved.

But as a general forum to just talk about the game? That's what the aim is. Deck help, card discussion, stuff like that.

Well honestly I think that when people meet others in their area that use jsp and have magic cards trades are inevitable. I can understand not wanting to allow mail related trades but I see no problem in allowing fg for online cards or fg for in-person transactions. It is the same as saying you can't meet a person you've talked to on JSP in real life because you might borrow something of theirs or buy something of theirs. With careful monitoring I think this forum could become another solid source for trading and discussion since JSP has already proven it is a near-perfect engine for online trades.
