Besides the fact that this feature, in my opinion, runs contrary to the very essence of forums themselves, it also seems to introduce more problems than it solves.
For example, what happens when an ignored user posts in your thread and someone quotes that user's post? Do you see the quoted content?
If not, now there's a conversation in the thread which you can no longer hope to follow, which seems much more frustrating than simply ignoring the potential conversation in the first place.
If quoted material does show up, then the feature would only be useful insofar as other users choose not to quote the person you've chosen to ignore.

Get rid of all those useless confrontations when you don't see the spammers messages.

Win win situation for all. Trolls will die and spamming will reduce, because people will see no one gives a rats ass about them.

It'd seem that any quoted conversation would just die off as intended to stop the spam/trolling to begin with. And personally I like the idea of this, maybe not how its given right now, but with some tweeks it'd be a nice tool. I have some people in mind I'd like to use it for whom would be better not being on these forums altogether.

This is insanly useless just ignore the person instead and go forward.

This is useless. If some is spamming your topic, just report him and move on. If he keeps doing it, collect the topics and send it to the appropriate moderator.

What if your own native subforum would only have 1 mod who is not around very often? Can you explain all the minor/major rule violations to a foreign mod? I don't think so...

I can close my eyes from stupid troll posts, but when you see a WALL of them and you literally have to scroll through the entire topic to see the good posts its VERY annoying don't you think?

I wouldn't mind having this option in my settings at all. When you post in a sub full of trolls you understand why the creater of this topic would want to see this button there.
