Sorry mate, I can't say it's really a fair concept to have this on JSP, because no matter how good your intentions, it appears discriminatory to many people and, perhaps inadvertently, promotes a sense of religious inequality.

Considering practicalities, it is also not entirely viable. I suggest that you have a sticky that links to a site already hosting an interactive bible instead: Not only would it save on JSP's bandwidth, but it would also be much easier to do and wouldn't require any setting up whatsoever. Perhaps most importantly, you could dodge the whole JSP-endorsed-Bible-is-bad debacle simply and easily.

That's completely free financially and, from what I can see, completely free of adverts, too.

Perhaps try having a thread linking to that, or something? Or even make it as simple as PMing Christians you know a link such as this where they can save it as a favourite or bookmark it and whatnot.

I don't see this as a discriminatory suggestion. The Christian community has a big voice here, and I could see why some version of the Bible might be added here (not sure what wy might be best). But adding a Bible doesn't take anything away from any other religion or religious group. I wouldn't mind seeing an abundance of religious texts on the site, but the Bible makes the most sense, at least as a starting point. That is, I don't see how this would be a form of propaganda, expression of inequality, or advertisement. I understand the point about how it seems exclusive in some way, but I think it's more like an appeal to the (apparent) religious majority, or at least that which has the biggest voice on the site, than a way of dominating or putting other religions down. The suggestion that asked for the creation of a Christian Fellowship forum was met with some controversy, and I think the experiment turned out fine. That being said, I can see where there's limited support for this suggestion. In the end, implementing any suggestion will make some people unhappy, so the chief concern is the merit, scope and type of a given suggestion, rather than its popularity.

I support the suggestion, at least from a personal perspective.

I'd vote no unless several other major religious texts were added along with it to have a "religion" forum rather than focusing on one specific branch.

Perhaps we could have a forum that shares all types of religious scripture and excerpts. I foresee a lot of Christians viewing this as a great add, but from an outsiders perspective if I weren't a Christian I'd feel a bit neglected by this add and none that supported other views.

I feel that d2jsp is so diversified that it involves so many cultures, languages and of course religions, that this would almost be discriminatory by advocating one religion over another, despite the widespread appeal of Christianity.

As another perspective. Imagine if we had the Koran on here, but no other religious text. Personally, this wouldn't bother me as I don't truly hold myself to any one religion, but I would be curious as to whether or not this would make Christians feel a bit neglected if the Koran and only the Koran were there, but no Bible.
