.10% is rediculous statement , but a 3 strikes your out system seems fair.

Think of catagory's : Swearing+spamming , early bumping+early reposting , (only 2 catagory's i can think of)

If you would get 3 of these minor infractions in a 72hr time period , you'd get a 2 hour ban +10% first time , 24 hour ban 10% second time , and 7 day ban +20% 3rd time
So every time / every offence the 72hr period would starts again (if you get the 2nd minor infraction 65 hours after the first , the clock get's reset).

Just some food for tought ;)

well yeah, but i'll still stick with my suggestion cus i've seen alot of people spamming 100 times a day and this would really help. of cause the mediator has to work hard but it might just be time to hire some more? well just an suggestion...

This wouldn't work. If moderators start handing out random warn %s for different offences, there are no "ground" rules, and there will be disagreement on what constitutes or deserves a warn, leading to mass complaints about "unfair warnings".

The rule needs to be set. If you break any rule that deserves warn, you should get a set amount of warn, and not a variable amount, nor a fraction.

[x] No. It won't happen and I think this isn't very well thought out, because it simply would not function effectively.

The rule needs to be set. If you break any rule that deserves warn - thats why i thourd on this. there is tons of people just keep bumping every 2 minut and the topic gets closed. imo they should get the 0.10..

When you get warned is because you really really wanted to be. Warn are given as a punishment for your bad actions and imo 10% is the right minimum amount to give.

they should get 0.10. or even 0.05 or something. just to get jsp more clean.

↑ That is why I commented on the variable amounts.

If someone breaks a rule, they should be warned instantly, fully, and harshly, or it is not a punishment, and people will not learn from it. Deep down, everyone who gets warned knows that they totally deserved it.

Furthermore, if people are given "strikes", then people know that they can simply flaunt the rules for a little bit, and then sit back and be careful. This basically would send a message to everyone that they could break the rules as long as they only did it a couple of times.

Indeed, there's nothing wrong with just throwing an idea out there :)

I like where you're going with the idea you just mentioned, because I do feel that regular users should have more of an ability to report, and stop, those who break the rules. Spam reports are often not at all prioritised, even though I am assured this is not true, I've seen it for myself; mediators, understandably, with a lot of work to do, cannot respond quickly to simple spam reports.

As such, If several users are able to report the same posts, or user, this could raise it higher in the priority que, perhaps.

I'd have a think about that, personally.

I could see good use to this if maybe you got 10 .10s then you would get a full 10% automatically and a nice suspension for not following the rules but more then 3/4 of the post on jsp are the kinds of post talked about in this thread so i would have to say no because the mods wont be able to keep up with all this type of crap when they could be working on something more important i also think you should have to wait longer then a day because i think they have to add the warn manually and that would be a lot of warns to give and remove in one day

so i vote no for the drastic warns that would have to be giving out each day and also for the time that would be wasted by mods on these little issues when there can be more better things they could work on.

i would like to see a word filter on stupid shit like +1 and those types of things that way people will get auto suspended just for saying it and will then maybe come up with some better solutions like making a real post
