I saw him say they weren't true instant messengers as well but that isn't the case. Instant messaging explained pretty much means INSTANT messaging. Kinda like sending a PM but live. So therefore Facebook and Myspace IM is in fact a real IM. If he goes by that then dIM isn't a real instant messaging system either then because it's still user to user. He only claims it's in fact a real IM because of the ability to chat with groups of people i.e. guild chat.

Actually MSN wouldn't be claimed as a IM because it's also single user to single user with the exception of group conversations o.o

Anyways yes to above suggestion.

Wrong. Facebook and myspace are not instant. They have a rather large delay, because they are constantly sending packets back and forth to CHECK for new messages, whereas the d2jsp IM server I wrote notifies YOU when a message is available, so it uses no bandwidth if people are not messaging you. By contrast, FB and MS are sucking down bandwidth non-stop to "check for new messages". They are psuedo-IM clients are best.

d2jsp will not be like this, it's a joke to do it that way, and I will not abuse my users machines or network in that manner.
