It isn't like he is changing the site, only improving the likability of the banner. It is plain, yes I know some people like it plain. But I feel it needs something a little spicy.

Images are over-rated.

And don't forget, we have multiple styles in various colors, which don't play nice with images, and having one for each is YUCK.
