thats been the rule for a while, doesnt look like its going to change
stay on topic about the suggestion
topics disappear because of spam, and more moderators might help, but again i dont know paul's stance

well it's kind of a faux conversation anyway. does any of it really matter? Not really. People will do whatever they will do no matter what kind of rules are in place as well as people will be useless if that's what they want to be *cough cough*.

Yeah, in my experience they don't do anything. Well, uber topics I understand people need to get that shit done fast people are uptight and don't want to wait. I've seen people leave the game if it doesn't start within a few minutes after they join. Also I think offering service without a trusted tag is fine. How are people supposed to be "trusted" if they can't do shit. It's retarded imo. I've never had any service done by a person with a trusted tag and in my experience it's been fine. A majority of the time it's free to me (because I know nice people). I've only payed for a few ubers.

Yeah, threads go fast that's why there is the search function or have a friend bump it again.

I get what you're saying, but I feel like the legal "iso ubers" threads are a good chance for people to become trusted. Make a vouch thread or something and present it to the mods for a tag or something.

Can we think of some other ideas besides for "more mods"? Maybe a script that looks to see if anyone else posted before op bumps if under 4hours, and auto warns? I think something like that alone would make a huge difference on the trade forums.

You missed my sarcasm with the "if people want to be useless *cough cough*" thing.

then how do you edit that script to respond to trade offers? it would mistakenly close legitimate trade topics
also users can type other words besides bump so the script wouldnt detect it (was already suggested, im referencing that suggestion)
in general an automated script wouldnt be very feasible, nor would auto warn
strict rule enforcement would get the point across, but there arent many mods to enforce rules on the trading grounds

Yeah, maybe a script like that would work, but I think people would just ask their buddies to bump the thread (I do it for lots of people all the time).

I like the "legal" uber thread idea =]

Having more moderators will help this site.
I guess my answer will always be yes.
More moderators also means more chance of them being active and able to help out.
