If there was some sort on control on the early bumping then this wouldnt be needed.

I would love this, yes, but i don't see it heppeneing when even the current system (warns) isn't used.

Yes, having it so you are unable to bump your topic until the allotted time is up, would be nice. It would undoubtedly lead to people copy/pasting and creating multiple new topics with the same information......still early bumping, but probably very hard on the system. I have heard from many long time jsp'ers who don't even bother with the trade forums anymore due to the early bumping. I have also gotten input from a few mods who are very overburdened with their workloads as it is, who state that early bumping isn't that big a concern on their list of to do's. This may explain why it is so rampant and rarely does anyone appear to be punished...other than the people who follow the rules :(

it took me less than 10 seconds to locate this example of the kind of bumping i'm referring to: http://forums.d2jsp.org/index.php?showtopic=34247623&f=53

If people can be disciplined for spamming and ofc they can and are. I see no reason why this behavior can't be considered the same. Additionally, there is no reason people have post and re post the same the items in thread after thread. This also is spamming the site and clutters it up, when we are searching for items to buy or sell.

Way too strict, if this was done, there would hardly be anyone left using the trading forums. The biggest problem in dealing with the massive number of early bumps is that they are not reported - I often see/report threads that have been early bumped 10+ times over several days and nobody has reported them. If you see someone early bumping a thread repeatedly (or repeatedly breaking any rule), PM it to the appropriate moderator (TM for trade forums) with a brief explanation of what was done wrong. Reporting the posts is the biggest issue in dealing with violations, and remember that early bumps, while a nuisance, are not a very severe violation of the rules until they build up in numbers.

That would be insanely hard to keep track of.

Not needed, if you see early bumps in a topic just report it and it will get taken care of.

I know it is hard and there are a lot of them - but remember We have 490,224 registered members and 49 people who can moderate in the trade forums. :/
