They wouldn't be closed unless needed.
That would be an example of a wrong thing to do.
Perhaps a new rule could be added to the site preventing people like you from doing so.

Too many people would take advantage of the system and the mod que would become flooded.
Less important items such as spam/early bumps would overwhelm the que causing more important violations such as keyloggers/porn to be overlooked.

urgent ones can/should be PMd as well

I don't think more people would report an early bump more than porn in any case.
It doesn't really matter if an early bump gets to the top of the list cuz that might as well be closed too.

yeah but adding reports to the top of the que that arent needed will slow things down.

scanning threads with no abuse IS the waste of time

Not enough people would report a thread w/o abuse for it to reach the top of the ques.
The ones with no abuse would probably only have 1-2 reports, it wouldn't make it to the top either.
At least that's my thought on the subject.
