The forum isn't just a trade forum
its a chat forum as well
you could say that people are chatting about serious stuff in the user blogs

Most of the serious conversations happen in subforums related to that conversation. Rarely do people come to user blogs with a serious topic, and the occasional serious topic can in fact receive serious replies. It really is a waste of a moderators close topic power to close topics in User blogs when they could be cleaning up the spam threads and replies in the actual trade forums. Sorry for the novel, this just irritates me.

as i said tho
if mods leave the User blogs and go to trade forums, there will be a complete spamfest in Userblogs

Theres mods for each section for a reason
Then another thought of people would be add more mods,
but some people need to earn that responsibility

What is the problem with a spam fest on userblogs as long as the places where people actually conduct business are spam free?

Porn is usually only posted by members intentionally to get banned. When porn is posted, and the report function will let moderators see it is porn, they can issue a ban or warn and remove the image. Nn to spend all time trying to be badass warning all the spammers in ub and gc that they are out to getcha.

This is not a spam site. People are assigned to different forums to improve efficiency throughout the whole site. If you see excessive spam in the trading forums, report it and a moderator of that section will review it.

Reporting the threads in certain trade forums rarely gets the response that an active moderator who is patrolling does. The spammers are the ones who keep jsp in the top 5 active forums on the interweb, and any site that allows posting will have spammers. It seems prudent to let them have a space to hang out instead of forcing them out into the trade topics.

Every single report that gets made is reviewed by a member of the mod team. Just because you don't see the result you had hoped for it doesn't mean it is going unnoticed.

Also, enforcing site policies in a certain forum is not "forcing them out into the trade topics", because they will most likely receive the same punishment there, if not worse.

Lets say User blogs is continually ransacked like it was today when d2_hooked got butthurt. The spammers would very probably move out to other threads such as trade forums where their posts might go unnoticed by the mods, but not by the average trader. The site would also very probably have less overall posts because of some leaving, and since jsp being in top 5 active sites on the web is really the product of spammers, the site could loose valuable recognition. Spam doesn't affect a whole lot of people when contained in user blogs, but when set free into trade forums and the like, mass chaos would ensue and the world could very possibly end.

Do you have any idea what you are talking about, or are you just mad because you were spamming and a moderator did his job? If a trade thread is getting spammed up it is encouraged that someone report the post so a moderator can take a look at it, and see if a warn or suspension is necessary.
