Okay so hear me out guys, I'm not sure if this has been suggested before so don't get mad or flame me if it has :).

I'm suggesting this to be kind of like the eeeeeebay feedback system these r some things i thought itd consist of:

- the (xx.xx% positive feed back) would be located somewhere in user stats, like under the warn % bar or something
- the "rate trader" option would appear AFTER you send someone FG ( after trade has been completed ) after you send the fg itll take you to a page where you can rate the trader and leave a comment
- for the person receiving fg, the pm sent to them saying someone has sent them fg will also have a link taking them to the "rate trader" option
- each rating must be linked to a thread, maximum of 5 ratings per thread (# could change)
- Minimum amount of fg must b sent in order for JSP to allow you to rate someone ( to avoid people sending each other fg back and forth and rating each other, if they do this anyways, im sure njag has a way of finding out )
- it could be displayed as a bar, just like warn, except the higher is, the greener is it (green good, red bad) [doesnt have to be a bar, could just b a %, with a colo coded number]
for example:
Trader Rating: 50%
Trader Rating: 99.5%
Trader Rating: 27.8%
- when you click the bar it'll take you to a page where you can view whether or not someone voted positive or negative, and their comment


if any1 has any PS skills and would like to try to make a sample s/s of how the bar or % would look like itd be awesome

I do believe this has been suggested in the past, and shot down. I am not sure though.

Voted No, sorry - People would get their friends to vote for them and etc, I personally trust them personally or I don't.

Sorry - could be misleading for new members who doesn't know who's trusty and who isn't since there would be all that corruption behind it.

/And people would donate just to rate someone down because they're jelly or rate someone up if it's their buddy.

Also, people may be 'buying' those votes and etc...

Will just result in a popularity contest rather than an actual proper rating, thus not needed.

We have a system of trusted, not rated and scammer tags.

It works fine. The 'rating/feedback' system you wish to implement never works out for this main reason: people abuse it and give feedback for wrong reasons. Or even start offering fg for a good rating.

one of the suggestions for it would b a fg limit for it to allow you to rate, so you can jut send .01 fg back and forth and keep rating each other, another idea would be rating a person once per trade thread or something like that

THIS IS A great idea.

the trust not rated and scammer tags work only AFTER the person has gotten scammed, or after years of a person trading on the site and earning trust, im simply suggesting another way of someone making sure they wont have any problems trading with the user without having to ask around, like i see people do alot

as for ppl offering fg for good rating, another suggestion would be linking the rating to a link or something of that sort, if someone clicks on the comment and they see someone was offering fg for rating it would be a reportable offense, and a clear indicator that the person should not be trusted based on the fact that they are paying for ratings and only a max of like 5 ratings per thread (in case of multiple items), idk those details can be sorted out by njag should he decide to implement it, or suggested by more voters

We cannot predict scammers or what people are going to do in general. Use a mediator, we have them for a reason.

The rating feedback system has so many flaws that its not worth the risk.

People will always try and work out some black market agreement to try and better their status. It just wont work.

if i remember correct, this has been suggested before and denied.

and as Legacy843 said, it would not work, it would be abused.

current system works fine.

The current rating system is sufficient & work well - if you want to get your status up'd you just have to apply yourself & work for it

Although this system is a nice idea in theory - it would be far to easy to abuse and have users vote for/down another user making it more of a popularity contest, instead of an actual rating as already suggested and not a controlled system that cannot be manipulated like the current system is
