There is currently a Political and Religious discussion forum under General Chat, which I see as combining two areas of study and discussion arbitrarily into one place.

I think it would be wise to keep these sub-forums separate, to prevent from political discussion infringing on religious discussion, and likewise, religious ideals infringing on secular political discussion, in the same way separation of church and state is a widely accepted policy.

So, to give a visual representation it would be like such:

I wouldn't mind breaking it up into further subdivisions, such as:
-USA Politics
-Canada Politics
-Africa
-Asia
-Europe
-Latin America
-Middle East
-Oceania

And as each of those sub-forums fill up, we add more for individual countries. Like Germany, France, United Kingdom, Russia(bank), Japan, etc.
