Throughout my d2jsp career i've noticed a few things that I believe need to be changed. But i'll stick to one issue at a time and bring up this one that i've been thinking about for the past couple months.

When I log in on d2jsp, I immediately click
Softcore - USEAST Trading to check what's for trade on Diablo. While I read the trade threads I notice many p/c threads that are viewed, but with no answer on what the price range is. I've come up with a simple solution to remove the Price Check free floating threads, and reintroduce the Price Check sticky thread.

Now for the explanation of what needs to be done in order for our forums to run in perfect harmony. We create a sticky thread, open for anyone to post a picture of there item and asking for a price check or an explanation why there item is worth what we think, or is worthless. For this to be done properly we would need active people who have a good understanding of the game and its items. The few selected price checkers should be posted with a quick link on the first post of the price check thread so people know who are the current price checkers and don't fall for some random person giving there 2 cents to get a quick deal off another user. Some things that the price checkers would look for are: Rarity/pre patch and overall game economy.

I believe this will be perfect if we can do these things:

1) Get a sticky thread
2) Give permission to qualified users to post price checks in the thread

Now, I can't stress this enough that the Price Checkers are going to be the key to the success of this project. I'm not sure of ways to qualify users as price checkers, but i'm sure you guys could give your ideas on way we could do it! I partly made this thread because I get messaged often for a price check. But this idea isn't just for Diablo games. We can use this concept on multiple trading community sub-forums, not just a specific realm.

Please leave opinions thanks! :D

seems like a gg idea i think...especially for people like me who just started playing again...cause the price guide sucks horrible and keeping up with price changes are imposible unless you live on here...jsp isn't about helpin people like it was when i first joined in 2006...most people seem stuck up or don't really give a shit about the next person...so askin for a price check usually fails...i support ur idea and hope it gets changed!!

prices change too often and vary too much to really have a reliable pc topic. people mostly want pcs on specific rare/crafts, not common items like soj or hr. it would be more effective to have a searchable list which has an item's trade history, but a) that would require too much work and b) it doesn't help much for new items on the market

it's a thread where qualified memebers of the trade forum give you there opinion on the items value based on the rarity and current economy.

best example i can give you is this: http://forums.d2jsp.org/topic.php?t=21269614&f=60
just a stickied thread where anyone can post, but only qualified members can give there opinion on an items worth to prevent unintentional short sales

I hardly see how this would be any different from people posting their own thread and getting answers from anyone who happens to notice it. The only difference is that if all of this were in one thread, it would be near impossible to keep track on responses to your post. Considering the amount of price check threads I see, pages would fill in seconds with request after request, and each person would have to wade through page after page to find the person who had replied; the original replier would have no indication of where the original poster had asked a follow-up question, either, and they too would have to wade through pages to find it. What if someone leaves the computer for 10 minutes, an hour, 6 hours? How the hell would they find the response through the hundreds (and, make no mistake, there WOULD be hundreds) of pages? Wouldn't this defeat the entire point of making it easier?

This just isn't viable in the slightest. There is absolutely no chance that something like this could happen in a single thread. Removing price guides, too, seems pointless. Sure, they aren't perfect, but if you feel that strongly about it, write your own and update it regularly as ladder seasons progress. This pretty much means that uniques and the like are never asked for price checks, thus cutting down on the total number of price checks. Then, people can easily make a thread if they aren't sure about a rare or something, and most get about 5 responses in under a minute (at least they do in EUSCL). This system works perfectly and I see no reason to modify it at all.

Terrible idea, sorry.

IT wouldn't be near impossible. it would be the exact opposite. the example I gave a few posts above proves this. If we do this, we'll clear up p/c threads from the TRADING GROUNDS, and put them into price check sticky threads, leaving more room for trading, and less room for giving bad opinions on items. The system works fine, but that doesn't mean there's no room for improvement. after all, as human beings our natural instinct is to improve and become better. and for this sticky it wouldn't be one person watching over it. there would be multiple people, i'd guess to say at least 4 or 5 people looking over the thread.

about your suggestion to update the p/c sticky closed thread every now and then. well that would be unfeasible and who would want to take the time to update that once a month? ecspecially if you're not getting anything in return out of it.

thanks for comment

no not really because people with higher amounts of fg can easily control the trade economy
ex
What is an El worth?
Poor person- 1fg
Rich person-5fg

cause you know how some wealthier people Opay,
they just might think its normal~
