4Hr Bump Rule Problems

This topic is not meant to insult the people reporting (trolls though they generally may be) or the moderator that is enforcing the rules.
I just have a few concerns regarding this topic, considering I've had two topics closed so far due to me violating the 4hr bump rule some how.

At some points I can't tell if moderators are closing topics simply because people are reporting for them (which almost seems to be the case, but I could definitely be wrong), or the moderator absolutely has a specific reason for closing my topics.

For instance:
http://forums.d2jsp.org/topic.php?t=56383084&f=328&o=0

My topic was closed due to the 4hr Bump rule. Unfortunately for me, someone must have reported the topic due to one double post;
I was responding to earlier posts after being unable to edit the post before the double. For some reason or another,
I can't really edit posts after a short period of time (I'm not sure how long it is), but I definitely don't have the option to edit it. Hence, I'm forced to make a double post.

I just want to clarify, doubleposting isn't the same thing as bumping multiple times in a 4-hour period, rather,
people either do it by mistake or are put in the same situation I'm put into.
I see threads closed left and right due to people "Violating the 4hour Bump Policy".

So to the point, I feel there should be some exceptions regarding this rule. Either this, or fix editing to give more time to the person creating the thread. If you feel there should be some exceptions to this rule, post your ideas. Say yes to the poll. I think this is a legitimate concern.

Note: My post count and my join date have nothing to do with the fact that this is a legitimate concern. Thank you! :)

Just FYI: You can edit posts 2 times (at least, I can) whenever you wish, it's an amount, not a time.

Posts can be edit'd up to 30 minutes. More than enough time.
If you need to respond to a post before the 4 hour time is up, you can pm the person or wait the 4 hours.
Double posts are the same as early bumps.
There will be no exceptions.

I tried to edit mine after 10 minutes and didn't have an option. What's the point of shutting a thread down because I had to double post? It seems like the thread was only shut down because it was reported. Not because it was an early bump. I understand there are rules in place to prevent spamming of threads, but it helps not to shut down a thread that I've invested FG in just because I was forced to double post. I think asking for a few exceptions is a relatively small thing to ask for considering it's not doing anything wrong.

Again, double posting is NOT an early bump. In all technicalities though, YES, it does bump the thread early. But if I'm not attempting to get a one up on my thread, and the rest of the thread has no early bumps, then what's the problem?
