I was wondering if this would be considered being as some older members don't like there name and typically may not have the forum gold to change their name.
So I was thinking after the first year of joining the account would be allowed at least one name change free of charge OR at a discounted price per year saved.

one can hope i guess. I don't see why it would be knocked down since its a community based site but then again i get why it would be turned down.

No. Just like other site features, they cost forum gold.

I think its not a bad idea, but i would like to build on it. The way I interpreted this is that after one year you can change your name as much as you want. I think there should be a kind of timer, and you can change your name after 365 days, then you don't have to change your name right at 365 days, but when you do, it resets the timer back to 365 days. However, I think you should still be able to buy a new name, but once again, after you buy your new name, the timer for a free change goes back to 365 days. This is just my thoughts though.
