Our mysterious "Report" button..

Well.. this has happened more then once.. i make a post.. get flamed.. i dont reply to the spam.. i report it, like we are told to do. so.

My topic gets closed, they dont get warned, or even talked to about it.. and i get to spend more time creating more topics wasting more space and effort by everyone(mods, spamers, me).. why not just warn these people get it done and over with. whats the point of a report button.. when it only screws you outa your own time and effort.

Seems pointless.

My Rantings.

yeah, to close it.
Reporting SOMEONE ELSE shouldn't result in YOUR topic being closed - that's freakin' moronic.
Maybe if meds actually looked at what was happening, this wouldn't be an issue.

I completely agree with you on this subject. However, I've noticed that in a matter to get around it, users simply PM a moderator about the subject with the thread and they'll usually post a verbal warning about the spam.. But I guess for now, there's nothing more we can do about the subject.

Yeah, I'm sure if you contact a mod about this every time it happened, it would get bothersome. I think I've only resorted to this once.

yea. i do the PMing when its more extreme.. personal attacks or w/e yea know.

Sadly ive seen recently moderators post up to "stop the spam" half time sounding more childish then the spammers themselves.. but then.. the spammers just SPAM THE MEDS!! lol.. some if its tbh extrmemly funny.. its really a joke with the people who do it..

Thanks for all the opinions! Keepem comen!

I agree that the punishment should result in warns, and not just closing the topic. Especially if it is YOUR topic and you reported a spammers post in your thread. No one will stop if nothing happens to them.
