Basically besides looking at your friends there isn't any way to know if someone has added you to your frends list. I am suggesting that you receive a pm when someone adds you to the friends.

A lot of people just randomly send invites, why should a pm be added to that.

True. A pm could get annoying if you get a lot of invites, but most people on the site don't get tons of invites a day.
