Most agree with this line of reasoning. I posted last night about this. The reason so many came to jsp from d2 is through word of mouth, people trying to trade in game where it was overrun with spam came to jsp to get away from it. I posted saying to do 2 things. 1. increase the mod count and make a group strictly over monitoring spam. 2. there's not stiff enough laws for this. The current system isn't working at all. Spam is going unchecked because there's no strictly enforced penalty. I voted for something such as for 5 spam threads in a weeks time 10% warm, after the first warn 15day locking. And I firmly do not agree with letting a locked tag being able to still make a thread. when someone is locked they have no reason to be able to make a thread, that only leaves many with the option of spamming. And don't say they can still trade items for items because this site's currency is fg not items. They can still handle their locked tags being able to only pm with mods. How often do you see locked tags making spam threads?

I was never given a verbal for either of my warns I received in my time on here, if user's are overly controlled such as your 15 day "locking" they will just make another account. The current Gold: Locked users can still trade via item vs item as the site does not require you to trade fg vs item or item vs fg and there are non-trade related forums on here.

What is it? Of course there is much more users than moderators but what can be done about it if not enough users are showing the qualifications to handle being a mod on the site? If the same user is making constant violations you can gather them up and PM them to whichever mod deals with the section they're violating, what you're suggesting will just make tons more multi account users than there already is

The locked thread thing... I highly dissagree. How do you make money to pay off your locked tag if you can't post? And not all "locked" are "Scammers".

I get tired of hearing the same thing about follow the current system in place when it's clear to most that it's just not accomplishing the goal here. It's only increased with the user increase. There's many things that can be put into place to cut multi accounts back to almost nothing. If things become more strict it will curb the spam no question about it. Realize that most on here are kids who will not respect a verbal or a warn.

edit - about you hating on people with locked tags, There are other parts of this site that have NOTHING to do with trading, why ban them from that?

that's for the spam and the profanity, if you hadn't noticed we're all doing txt block. Ban them from the TRADE forums where spam is the issue discussed here. It's not all locked tags doing it as i stated. I won't restate if you don't care to read up don't post "constructive" remarks. trying to get things accomplished in here, if you can't act like an adult then don't post thanks

I like the idea of having well-defined consequences for well-defined infractions. The site does need a little mopping up in that regard. Recruit the man power it takes the make sure you can clean out the rule violators. The big issue is with enforcement; a lot of these rules are already in place. Enforce them better, and people will start to listen.
