I was thinking about this and a lot of time, people pm me and want some item i got but they are over... But my thread are still alive..
So i think that there should be a button to autoclose your thread when you push it or simply call a moderator to close the thread when you push the buttons..
Or maybe this buttons could be added in the Report Post button ohmy.gif ? Like request to get topic closed or w/e..

waste of mods time/possible abuse, furthermore you cannot see em when searching for posts anymore

I agree with the searching for posts, but it may be helpful in general if closed posts came up in searching
Threads that hit over 60+ are nearly impossible to find later on

How can it be abused if only the creator can close it?
Only thing I can think of is people making a topic, closing it and making a new one as an early bump
But people do this now without this feature

Some people do searches and bump old topics constantly that should have been closed

Letting it die is much easier.

given I pricecheck/trade a lot of items, part of my "work" is information - to do research on prices.
That works best if you use the form at the very top of the trading section.
Closed topics are not visible there anymore. Hence I do not favor this suggestion

Not when you are making a big ft list.. after 2 days of no bump, people are still pming you for item they want.. even if you made another big ft list with update in it !

so what's the matter?
rather a potential trade than losing a potential trade

don't really understand this argument

i made a thread about this before and all i got was people saying it would be abused.

spammers would just make a thread and close it right after

no need
