Every day I take a moment to look through the titles and posts of the PvP forums (specifically the PvP East forums) and I don't see one original or meaningful post.

The majority of the users that post in the thread are scammers just spreading their ways onto other users. On the average there are atleast a few viruses posted every month. Mods try their best to close it (and have stunning haste when it comes to closing threads), but even with the added protection features some people are bound to fall for it.

The biggest reason I believe they should be closed however is that no true PvP discussion is ever posted anymore, the threads that now fill the section have no quality or content. No longer do people post threads of "player kills" or challenge each other to battles. The fun virtual Diablo rivalries of the past are long gone, and nothing but spam takes its place. In fact the majority of posts are just spam by multi account users to get their post count up so traders will believe that this person is trustworthy. By ridding D2JSP of the PvP forums you'd also get rid of an unmeasurable amount of "+1" posts; and indirectly lose a bunch of scammers.

I do realize the irony in me posting this thread as I used to love Diablo 2 PvP. But PvP East at this point is just mind nulling to look at. I shake my head in distaste when I scroll down the threads and view the posts.

To those of you that don't visit this garbage can, these are the kind of topics you can expect on daily basis (labled to save you time):

In its conception and youth the PvP forums literally brought action and compassion to D2JSP, but now in it's old age it's just a cancerous tumor. Ridding D2JSP of it would make the overall site a much more healthier place.

Can you back up your response? I'd like to have a logical discussion on this.

ah sry smile.gif read your post wrong wink.gif

no, dont delete pvp forums. there is still less spam than in other areas (general chat, blogs, ...).

deleting a subforum will not solve the problem.

Something must be done. The reporting posts for spam works, but reporting every post (or even 1 spam post for every spam thread) would fill up the que rather quickly.

collect all links to threads where a user spammed and send them to a moderator for this forum. and reporting every spam post is not needed, 1 report per spam topic should do. just count the "offering services without a tag" and the "early bump" violations in the trade forums... its an incredible amount.

example:

user1

That is an intersting idea, but as you can tell there are an overwhelming number of users that post nonsense in the forum.
