Aladdin, the algorithm made by Larry Fink from BlackRock manage a little bit over 21 trillions dollars. It's distributed in about 55,000 financial institutions/hedge funds etc. Most money in the world is managed by this algorithm. This is what you're are competing with, trading is a legal scam but it's definitely possible to take a little bit there and there

I am a quaint and I put myself through university swing trading, but it's a losers game. Value investing, buying real companies with solid balance sheets with a long term outlook for anybody who can't manipulate volume institutionally - that's the only way to go. Consistent ETFs, dividend paying equities, etc. Listen to the Charlie Mungers and Warren Buffetts of the world. Avoid the Chamath Palihapitiyas.

Don't get me started on crypto. That whole industry is just waiting for the killing blow - central bank backed digital currency. And AML implications are too great

I did not say it's going to be great. It's just that digital currency without government monetary control will never be allowed to flourish. The things Jeff says, people have said in one way or another for decades.
