Hello. This is a new thing that the CRA has implemented to help the working families/individuals. Basically, workers need to make over 3000 dollars in working income in a tax year to qualify. But they cannot make too much money either, I believe once they start making over 22k or so, the CRA starts to reduce their benefit.
Previously, I thought that once I made over 3k a year, I would qualify for the maximum amount, which is 1395. I thought that they gradually reduced the amount of benefit I would get as I made more over this threshold amount of 3k. However, after filing for my taxes this year, I realize that I was mistaken. Apparently, the more money you make (provided that it's less than 22k), the more you will get, up to a maximum of 1395. So much for thinking all I needed to do was make 3k a year to get this sweet money.
Anyway just wanted to share this with everyone.
