Curious to see everyone level of understanding of this massively hyped up word "Blockchain"

Explain what is blockchain in less than 15 words, sending 25,000 sats to the best answer

Blockchain is a digitized, decentralized, and continuously growing public ledger that consists of records called blocks, which are linked and secured using cryptography.

Its an open market fan boy's wet dream, but a government and bankers nightmare as they lose controls over the power of purse. In theory blockchain backed systems should be near free to execute/facilitate a transaction when compared to traditional systems, but reality is far from that fantasy. Investors/banker middlemen always angling to get some kind of cut. Many pseudo-blockchain or pretend-wallet services being peddled around.
