The argument of why you shouldn't add it via purchasing on the NYSE is a delisting, and you don't actually own the company direct via shares you're purchasing under a variable interest entity structure. The other turnoff being that their accounting standards are not held to the same standards and don't have to be.
Bottom line is you don't own BABA when you purchase it on the NYSE and if it delists from the NYSE its going to drop like a rock on the OTC.
If you're willing the risk the above, yes its an attractive investment.

At it's current share price I think it's worth considering the risk for a relatively mid/short term investment.
