What’s the best trading platform to use ?
I use TD Canada tfsa and the fees and exchange rate soon as I buy something I’m down 1-3% I’m not sure if it’s due to exchange rate or what it is. But would also like the option to trade options so what’s best trading platform to use for this with low fees?

I’m based Canada, currently I am using binance for trading and wealthsimple for hodling as it not built for day trading. Cmc is owned by binance so it should meet your standards.

WealthSimple is great for trading canadian stocks its free. 0% commissions. I only use my Questrade account for trading US stocks and derivatives/options. So if you want to trade options you're stuck with Questrade imo. Unless you have enough capital to open an account with Interactive Brokers.

You can use Norberts Gambit to exchange to US funds for only the cost of twenty bucks essentially since its just the cost of buying and then selling so two trades.

This allows you to circumvent the banks exchange fees.

I won't go into detail since you can read for yourself but essentially you're just buying a Canadian ticker having the bank journal funds to the American ticker then selling it on the American market so you get US funds back.

Interactive brokers lets you trade all markets, usually the best for retail
National bank has zero comm fees if you're only investing
Wealthsimple if you're a millenial
