I grow fish and plants in aquarium and disposable tupperware containers under grow lights in my hot water heater closet. Initial investment of probably $2000, operating cost of $20/m for power, shipping supplies, co2, ferts and fish food.
Most of my sales are on aquabid but some Craigslist a little facebook, etsy and Instagram. When I have to liquidate large quantities of fish/plants I can solicit local fish stores.
The tank maintenance and watering is less than 5 hours a month because I've automated everything with timers by recycled hvac controllers.
I'm selling avg of $100 a month and I stopped aggressively advertising 2 years ago and I'm only listing on aquabid, usually selling to fish stores across the world.
If you live in a 3rd world country with an avg ground Temps of 60-80° I don't see why anyone can't make it just hustling fish. Even if it's tilapia for food.
It pays for itself teaching discipline, gaining a talent like bonsai culture, and playing God. It scratches the itch of mowing the lawn, having pets, and going outside. if ur an urbanite this is it.
Teach men to fish tbh
