I'm thinking about investing in medicinal marijuana. My close IRL friend invested in it 8 years ago and has made up around a $40k profit. I have no idea where to start learning about investing. I assume I don't need to know too much since I'm only going to invest in one thing

depends what you want to invest in. long term or short term returns. best investments are in something that will be bigger in the future

also 40k profit/8 years depending on how much time/money he put in is really not that much money

Investing money is a good idea, but if you really believe in the future of marjiuana and want to make a real investment, get an education and find a position in the industry.

Thanks. Seeing as how marijuana seems to be a growing popularity and republicans won the senate that might be useful to legalization. I dont know shit about politics though

its all the accessories. Vaping is a niche you could invest in. few years out everyone will be vaping

Is it smart to involve a broker?

if you are new at this i suggest getting a few books and learning how it works yourself. if you can find a good broker go all for it but you won't gain much knowledge of how your making money that way. plus once you use a broker and they do make you money, you will want to keep a broker
