A local company hosted a finance fair for the senior class of my high school. They are doing absolutely terrible as a company. Their stocks lost 30% of their value in a DAY. Do you believe that we should be learning financial skills from them despite their recent failures as a company?

Also, a bit unrelated, I make free sigs. I will take on 2 jobs today for the first 2 people who say they want one. Just simple texture/gradient fill box sigs with custom "character" on the inside to day. Don't have the energy for popouts.

Well I mean tips are cool, but if you don't wanna, you don't have to :) Really just wanting practice.

thier mistake is their client base. they sell upscale white women clothing to older ladies. I see either expansion or bankruptcy in their future

@ bold, You should become a finance major...

and because their stock fell 30% in one day does not necessarily mean they are a terrible company. If the stock became overpriced and released a earnings not quite as high as expectations, it will set it back. That does not mean the company is going to fail or has poor financing skills.

I forgot to mention that the value of the stock had been dropping gradually for quite some time before the big 30%. My guess is that someone who owned a large portion of shares from the corporation finally stopped waiting for it to kick back. He cut his losses and in-turn the value of the stock dropped immensely due to lack of buyers.

did it just recently drop 30% because its 3rd quarter earning season for most companies. they could have released some earnings.

That's probably more likely.
