It costs $135,766 per stock to invest in this company; that's the most expensive stock in the world, and it just rose by over $900 since yesterday. I'm fairly new to economics, but could someone please explain to me how and why Berkshire Hathaway is selling for so much?

Berkshire Hathaway has two different classes of shares.

Class A worth what you said.

And Class B worth a lot less.

Why?

Class A is meant for bigtime investors and it keeps the general public out of their elite investment pool.

Why is class A so expensive? Simple they haven't had a "split" (google that stock term) meaning they have not divided the cost of the shares to keep it cheap so more people can invest.

It is a huge conglomerate of many companies some of which the poster above mentioned.
