but I need practice before spending real money

anyone got recommendations on practice programs that look/feel like the real stock market except it's fake currency?

Start yourself off with $50k on paper. Check stocks on marketwatch or some other stock watcher. Spend your imaginary $50k. rinse repeat. Pencil and paper works.

well I just really wanted to learn the basics
I'm very new to this
I know the concept of making an account with a brokerage firm/depost like you do with a bank account, go online buy/sell stock, etc etc
but I just wanted to play along with them and not just using a pencil and paper. I also had some questions about how the stock market works so that could also help me get into it more

i think scott trade or etrade or one of those lets you play around with play money and learn the ropes

Or you could use Virtual Stock Exchange (VSE) like I did, own at it (Made like 45% profit on a 100k game etc) and win irl?
