betting on hunger
the topic title of today's newspaper..
what do you think is the reason for those high wheat & rice prices?
1. poor people, who eat rice every day, can't afford it anymore, because speculating brokers thought, they could join the resource market and grab some profit.
2. or is it the countries like thailand, china, indonesia, who don't want their people to suffer from famine, thus stopping the export of rice, forcing poorer countries to buy it more expensive from someone else?
3. or did the farmers say, no, we want more money, so we won't give our harvest away cheap..
4. or have the restaurant people seen, that the price was rising a bit, so they went to grab as much as they could?
they said, that sam's club and costco wholesale started rationing the rice...
quote from angela merkel (german chancellor): "How dare the Indians.. Eating 2 times a day."
What about us? Until they start importing their cheap ass foreign country electronic goods into the u.s. so I don't have to actually go there I'm not supporting free wheat for the chinks.
