Another scenario:

China will force people to go back to work and more deaths will occurs, yet we are not sure if actual China numbers are even true. China lied on its GDP, on its population amounts... It's all build numbers.

Others countries will show real numbers and more likely stop their economies in the same way... Till a certain point then people will finally resolve to "live" (and die...) with the disease, rampant.

Because it cannot be stopped, just curved to avoid a complete chaos spike. All this could happen and would trigger the recession cycle.

China's infection and death count is probably accurate. The only reason we doubted it in the first place was because of a change in diagnosis criteria which led to a spike in infections, but was later reversed, resulting in a decrease in infections.

In countries like Iran the disease will be rampant for sure because they're leaving it unchecked, but from an investing perspective nobody gives two fucks about Iran. The economies with the power to cause a recession or recovery are the US, China, the Eurozone and maybe Japan.

Markets are down about 10% from a few weeks ago compared to 13% down on Friday.

I'm currently holding tight. If there's a crash coming I'll take my losses on the chin and put significantly more money in. If there's a further rally I won't make any moves.

Mortgage rates are low if you are buying! Just had my low-ball offer on a short sale accepted, even better with low rates. Haven't seen them this low since ~2012.

Same boat. I got slaughtered last week holding but i think there was a ton of panic headline selling. I moved some money to things like REITs that dropped like 10% as well which makes absolutely zero sense since people aren't all of the sudden going to stop renting or moving for good jobs because there's a virus. I think in 6 months we'll be talking about the pockets of value this flash crash created.

It sort of makes sense, but IMO not enough for a major sell off. If small businesses feel the squeeze from lower consumer demand, they may default on rent, which harms the cashflows of REITs.

I'm looking at some insurance companies and software companies that don't manufacture heavily in China. I don't like going too heavy on individual stocks because of the volatility but if I think something is a bargain I'll back myself anyway.

I had a crazy thought earlier about investing in some airliners that are trading at P/E's of 4 or 5 right now due to coronavirus, given that they have the cash reserves to ride out the chaos. You have to have huge balls to invest in airliners though and I decided better of it.

All over the fkin place

Fighting for that 200 SMA. Closed above it, but futures are below it. I’m just holding, I have my prices I wanna buy at and I’ll wait. Vega is x5 normal so don’t do any yolo option lotteries unless you got big balls

WS is a fat kid looking at the Fed holding the cookie jar. Even if fed gives a cookie but they say hey fatty you might not get more cookies in the future the fat kid won’t be satisfied
